Yirgalem Frezghi

Yirgalem is CAN’s longest-serving staff member, deeply rooted in the Carlton high-rise public housing community. Known and trusted by many, she is patient, compassionate, and creative in her approach to supporting families.

Yirgalem walks alongside community members through challenges, gathering women in the women’s group, overseeing the Family Learning Program, and nurturing the BiMulti-Lingual playgroup. Her extensive local knowledge and dedication help ensure everyone feels welcome and cared for.

A respected leader in the African community, Yirgalem loves cooking, celebrating with family and friends, and is a devoted wife and mother to four adult children.
